Safety Guide for Durrës Watersports

Always pay close attention to the instructions given by your guide or instructor. They are experienced professionals trained to ensure your safety.

Always wear the provided safety gear, including life jackets, helmets, and any other equipment specific to the activity.

Be honest about your swimming abilities and physical fitness level. Do not participate in activities that are beyond your comfort zone or capability.

Abide by all local laws and regulations while participating in water sports. This includes respecting marine life and following designated routes.

Drink plenty of water before and during your activities to stay hydrated, especially under the sun.

Jet Ski Safety

Inspect the jet ski for any damage or issues before starting. Ensure the throttle, brakes, and steering are functioning correctly.

Wear a life jacket at all times. It is mandatory for all participants.

Adhere to the recommended speed limits and avoid reckless driving. Always slow down near the shore and other vessels.

Maintain a safe distance from other jet skis, boats, swimmers, and obstacles in the water.

Familiarize yourself with the emergency shut-off switch and procedures in case of an emergency.

Paddle Board Safety

Wear a life jacket and attach the leash to your ankle. This ensures the paddle board stays close if you fall off.

Check the weather forecast before heading out. Avoid paddle boarding in strong winds, heavy rain, or storms.

If you are a beginner, stay close to the shore. Avoid deep waters until you are more experienced.

Paddle board with a friend. It’s safer and more enjoyable to have someone with you.

Wear sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses to protect yourself from sun exposure.

Pedal/Paddle Boat Safety

Do not exceed the weight limit of the pedal/paddle boat. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for maximum capacity.

Ensure the weight is evenly distributed in the boat to prevent tipping.

Remain seated at all times while the boat is in motion. Avoid leaning over the sides.

Stay within designated areas and avoid venturing into open or rough waters.

Do not use pedal or paddle boats after dark unless they are equipped with appropriate lighting and you have received permission.

Snorkeling Safety

Ensure your snorkeling gear fits properly and is in good working condition. Test your mask, snorkel, and fins before entering the water.

Always snorkel with a partner. Keep an eye on each other and stay close.

Take your time to get used to breathing through the snorkel. Stay calm and take slow, deep breaths.

Look but don’t touch. Some marine creatures can be dangerous or easily damaged.

Be aware of currents, tides, and your proximity to rocks, corals, and other potential hazards.

Emergency Procedures

In any emergency, remain calm and think clearly. Panic can make the situation worse.

Use hand signals, a whistle, or any available means to signal for help. Wave both arms above your head to attract attention.

Know the location of the first aid kit and how to use it. Basic first aid knowledge can be very helpful.

Keep a list of emergency contact numbers on you at all times, including local emergency services and Durrës Watersports staff.

We are dedicated to ensuring your safety and enjoyment while participating in our water sports activities. Please follow these guidelines and reach out to our staff if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you for choosing Durrës Watersports!
